Sharon Osbourne – Drama at the Talk

Controversy at the Talk – the CBS daytime talk show, has heated up even as the show itself has gone silent. Sharon Osbourne, the former cohost, is under fire for her defense of pal Pierce Morgan’s controversial comments surrounding Meghan Markle’s mental health.

A report alleged that Osbourne used racist and homophobic slurs and bullied her co-hosts. The cohosts include Julie Chen Moonves and Sara Gilbert.

On March 16, journalist Yashar Ali cited multiple unnamed sources – including former Talk co-host Leah Remini.

The controversy started off one week earlier when Morgan said he “didn’t believe” Markle’s revelation about her experience with the royal family and stormed off the set of Good Morning Britain after cohost Alex Beresford called him “pathetic”.

Osbourne defended Morgan and then argued with cohost Sheryl Underwood about it on the show.

CBS announced it was launching an “internal review” and put the show on hiatus which has been extended indefinitely.

One industry source says of Osbourne, “She’s fierce. She came out of the rock and roll business, and she’s a scrapper”.

Osbourne has dealt with addiction with her rocker husband Ozzy, frontman for Black Sabbath, and her 35-year-old son Jack (now 17 years sober).

Ozzy took the first of many trips to rehab back in 1984. When treatment finally worked, he realized he had spent a life of “self-medicating”.

Sharon Osbourne, who is also a colon cancer survivor, has called the recent allegations “crap” and she “refuses to let others take her down”.
