Heather Locklear celebrated two special events in April. One-year of sobriety, and shortly after, her engagement to Chris Heisser – her high school sweetheart from forty years ago!
The two first dated in high school in Los Angeles back in the ’70s. After graduating in 1979, Locklear found fame, then married and divorced two rockers, Tommy Lee of Motley Crue, and Richie Sambora of Bon Jovi.
Ava Elizabeth Sambora (22) is Locklear’s only child. Not only are Ava and Heather are extremely close, but they also share a striking physical resemblance.
The 58-year-old actress best known for her work on “Melrose Place,” “Dynasty,” and “T.J. Hooker,” has said she is “grateful to be sober.”
It’s no secret that Locklear and Heisser have had struggles in their years of dating. In 2019, Locklear pleaded no contest to eight misdemeanor charges of battery and resisting arrest.
The actress allegedly turned aggressive towards a peace officer and an EMT after they responded to a disturbance at her place of residence in Thousand Oaks, California.
She was charged in two separate confrontations with first responders at her home (both in 2018) that led her to wisely accept a 30-day treatment program instead of jail time.
Interestingly, Locklear recently conveyed her heartfelt appreciation for first responders working amid the Covid-19 pandemic via social media.
Today, Locklear spends time with her daughter, who recently graduated from Loyola Mount University, caring for her elderly parents, and gardening.
Locklear’s family credits Heisser with helping to keep Locklear sober. He has stuck with her and truly believed in her throughout her journey!
