It has been almost five years since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce from Brad Pitt – citing alcohol issues and, of course, the infamous private plane incident. The plane incident allegedly was partly caught on film and was about a fight involving their (then) 15-year-old son Maddox.
At the time everything in Pitt’s life was falling apart. He felt deprived of his kids and he was slowly unraveling.
Pitt has said that it was at this time that he had to quit drinking and also quit weed. “I can’t remember a day since I was out of college when I wasn’t boozing or had a spliff or something”.
He replaced alcohol with cranberry juice and sparkling water.
He and Jolie owned a winery. About the winery, he said, “I mean, we have a winery. I enjoy wine very, very much, but I just ran it into the ground. I had to step away for a minute. And truthfully, I could drink a Russian under the table with his own vodka. I was a professional. I was good.”
On May 24th, Jolie, 45, filed a complaint opposing a Judges recent ruling to award Pitt, 57, more custody and time with the former couple’s five minor children. Jolie says the judge, “refused to hear the minor teenager’s input as to their experiences, needs, or wishes as to their custody fate”.
Pitt has said he “only wants what’s best for the kids and to spend time with them”.
