Valerie Bertinelli and her husband Tom Vitale have been granted a divorce. The actress and Food Network star (62) has been through a lot these last few years with the death of her first husband, father of her son, and “soulmate” Eddie Van Halen. Van Halen died of Cancer. Valerie has referred to Van Haken as her “true love” but says she could not stay married to him because of his cocaine use and lifestyle. They were married for twenty-one years. Van Halen was remarried but separated.
Her first husband Van Halen was diagnosed with mouth cancer in 2000 and had tongue surgery. According to his then-wife, this still did not deter him from drug use. After a motorcycle accident in 2019, his health took a turn for the worse. While Bertinelli has shown resilience in dealing with emotional issues in the past, she says she is healing through therapy and self-love.
