After a year that saw Kim and Kanye trying to avoid divorce, Kim Kardashian, 40, filed for divorce from her husband Kanye West, 43, on Feb. 19th.
A West insider says that the rapper, who has bipolar disorder, is “processing” the split.
“They want the kids to be happy,” says the source. Some say that Kanye’s 2020 presidential run was “the straw that broke the camel’s back” in the relationship.
The insider goes on to say they will co-parent the kids and work out a schedule that is good for everyone.
Kim Kardashian is staying busy with her legal studies and her businesses. Of course, she is also looking to her family for support.
Because of Kanye’s mental health problems, Kim has been as “gentle” as possible with him. She doesn’t want to send him into more problems with his disease.
“She’s worried about sending him into another tailspin, and that’s not good for anyone, especially the kids”.
Sources also say that they are honoring their prenup and are close to finalizing their finances.
Unfortunately Kin and Kanye have a “different vision of the world” says the source. Kim is “disappointed they couldn’t stay married”.
Kanye is seeking guidance from counseling in Malibu. West has said that his 2020 run for president “cost him his marriage”. They are both sad about the end of their marriage but Kim says they are “ready to move on”.
