Demi Lovato: New Details about Her 2018 Overdose

Lovato’s four-part docuseries, Dancing with the Devil, starts streaming on March 23rd on YouTube. The pop star, 28, opens up for the first time about the events leading up to the incident and the aftermath.

“I’ve had so much to say about what happened”. She reveals in the trailer for the film that she has had three strokes and a heart attack as a result of the overdose, which caused lasting brain damage.

She says she is ready to “get back to what I love, which is making music”. I’m not living my life for other people”.

Lovato also reveals that she doesn’t drive a car now due to blind spots in her vision. Her documentary will also briefly touch on her break-up with ex-fiance Max Ehrich, 29.

Demi Lovato discussed her journey with self-acceptance, her relationships, and her struggles with body image and mental health in her 2017 documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated. She is definitely one of the most transparent celebrities.

Four years later, she plans to follow-up on the topics from the first documentary while explaining new events – most specifically- her near-fatal overdose.

Lovato has said recently that she “wouldn’t change” her past. “It was a painful journey but I don’t regret anything. I’m so proud of the person I am today”.
